1. Leave shoes at the front door. This is especially a must for homes with light coloured tiles or carpets. This habit will keep floors looking cleaner longer which means needing to vacuum less often!

2. Empty the dishwasher in the morning and every time someone in the house uses a dish, they put it straight in the dishwasher. This will minimise time spent cleaning up the kitchen at the end of day.

3. Use a squeegee to wipe down water from shower screens after a shower. It keeps the shower looking clean and minimises soap scum build-up.

4. Use soap-free body wash to for a soap scum free shower cubicle. It's the soap scum build-up that can take the extra time in cleaning a shower.

5. Keep a microfibre cloth handy near the bathroom sink for wiping up toothpaste blobs, make-up spills and stray hair. Make it a habit to simply wipe the sink down with a little water after each use. You'll have a sparkling sink every day! For those with children in the house it may be a challenge to have everyone participate in this habit without some incentives but for singles and couples, it should be a cinch.
